North Korea calls for peace treaty

North Korea calls for the peace treaty with US before the denuclearization process. It is turned down by United States. North Korea softens its stand and sends signals to remove the hostility with US and Seoul. Analyst says this is due to the deteriorating health of North Korean leader Kim Jong II. The New Year message from North Korea is not as hostile as it was in the last year. North Korea says once the peace treaty is underway, it returns to six party talks on denuclearization only when the UN economic sanctions are lifted. Both US and Seoul are skeptical on the peace treaty called by the unpredictable North Korea.
